Friday is the last day to submit nominations for Progressive Railroading's 2016 Rising Stars Award.

The magazine is soliciting nominations for the fourth annual award, which recognizes people under the age of 40 who are on the fast track to success in the North American railroad industry.

The magazine's editorial staff will select 20 candidates for recognition at a celebration dinner to be held July 24, 2016, at the Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh. Written profiles of the Rising Stars will be published in the September 2016 issue of Progressive Railroading.

Nominees must be younger than 40 years of age on Sept. 1, 2016, and currently work in North America's railroad industry. Nominees also must be willing to participate in the award process, answer questions from Progressive Railroading editors and supply a photo for publication.

Candidates will be chosen for recognition based on various qualities, including their contributions to railroading; career achievements; demonstrated leadership; education and/or professional training; and professional association activity or community involvement.

To nominate someone, fill out the Rising Stars nomination form and provide information about the nominee's qualifications and accomplishments. The nominator should clearly explain how the nominee is making a positive difference in the railroad industry.
