Riverport Railroad L.L.C. recently promoted Amiee Martelle to chief executive officer and chief operating officer. Earlier this year, she was promoted to vice president and chief financial officer.

Now, Martelle will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Riverport Railroad's operations, and making all executive decisions regarding present and future activities. She joined the short line in 2008 and previously served as comptroller.

Jack Koster, who most recently was the railroad's president and CEO, now will serve as president and managing member.

Riverport Railroad launched operations in Savanna, Ill., in the late 1990s after the closure of the former Savanna Army Depot. Currently, the short line is developing the Savanna Depot Park, an industrial park situated on former army depot land.

Meanwhile, Anacostia Rail Holdings appointed Michael Stolzman president of the Louisville & Indiana Railroad (L&I) to succeed John Secor, who plans to retire at October's end. The short-line holding company also named Otis Cliatt president of Pacific Harbor Line Inc. (PHL) to succeed Stolzman, who joined PHL in 2005.

Stolzman, who also is president of Gulf Coast Switching Co. L.L.C., had been PHL's president since May 2010. He previously held various management positions with the Chicago & North Western and Union Pacific railroads, and CANAC, CN's former industrial switching arm. Prior to that, Stolzman was a career officer in the U.S. Army.

Cliatt, who joined PHL in 2010, most recently was vice president. He previously held operating department positions at UP, was regional VP for CANAC, and director of safety and training at CMC Railroad. Prior to his railroad career, Cliatt served as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Special Forces Command.

A 44-year rail industry veteran, Secor has served as L&I's president since the short line was formed in 1994. He previously was president of the Otter Tail Valley Railroad and held marketing and operating positions with the Chicago Central & Pacific, Illinois Central and Rock Island railroads.

"On behalf of the board of directors, I want to thank John Secor for his many years of leadership of Anacostia properties and for his service to the industry," said Anacostia Rail Holdings Chairman Peter Gilbertson in a prepared statement.
