New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority recently named Howard Roberts Jr. president of MTA New York City Transit (NYCT) to succeed Lawrence Reuter, who left the agency in February to join Parsons Brinckerhoff.

Most recently a transportation consultant, Roberts previously served NYCT between 1981 and 1986, first as finance and administration vice president, then as surface transit VP and COO. He joined the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority as deputy general manager in 1989 and became chief operating officer in 1997.

Millard Seay, who served as NYCT’s acting president since February, will resume his duties as senior VP of the Department of Buses.
