The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has named Edward Reiskin director of transportation, effective Aug. 15, to succeed Nathaniel Ford Sr., who previously served as executive director and chief operating officer.
Reiskin currently leads the city and county of San Francisco’s Department of Public Works. He has more than 20 years of experience in the private, academic, nonprofit and public sectors. Prior to joining the city and county of San Francisco, he served as interim city administrator and deputy major of the District of Columbia.
Reiskin is a “skilled manager who has extensive experience balancing budgets, finding efficiencies and making strategic capital investments,” SFMTA Chairman Tom Nolan said in a prepared statement.
The SFMTA board is scheduled to consider the terms of Reiskin’s contract on Aug. 2.
