The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) has added four new members to its governing board.
The new members are Miami-Dade County Commissioner Raquel Regalado, Miami-Dade citizen representative J.C. de Ona, and Gov. Ron DeSantis' appointees Carlos Penin and Robert Sendler.
Regalado is the first Miami-born Hispanic woman elected to the Miami-Dade County Commission. As a community leader, she is known for her advocacy for disabled children and adults, housing, seniors, fixing school facilities and transportation.
Meanwhile, de Ona is the southeast Florida division president of Centennial Bank.
Penin has worked in several south Florida architectural and engineering firms. He serves as president and chief executive officer of C.A.P. Government Inc., which specializes in providing building department outsourcing exclusively to government agencies.
Sendler is vice president and chief litigation counsel for NextEra Energy Inc., Florida Power & Light Co., Gulf Power Co. and NextEra Energy Resources.
