STB names Itzkoff, Jakubowski to railroad-shipper council

The Surface Transportation Board (STB) last week announced Donald Itzkoff and Eric Jakubowski have been appointed to the board's Railroad-Shipper Transportation Advisory Council (RSTAC).
Jakubowski is chief commercial officer of Anacostia Rail Holdings Inc. He has 35 years of experience at small and large railroads, and has a broad range of knowledge of the rail industry, from operations to government affairs and strategic planning.
Itzkoff is chief policy officer of Patriot Rail Co. LLC. His public service experience includes serving as deputy administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration and as senior counsel for the U.S. Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee's Surface Transportation Subcommittee. He has 30 years of experience in public and private transportation policy.
"Both Eric and Donald have extensive experience in matters of concern to the board," said STB Chairman Marty Oberman in a press release. "I appreciate Eric's focus on advancing technology and improving business practices, as well as his operational experience. Donald is uniquely familiar with board policy, as someone who helped formulate and implement the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) Termination Act of 1995."
The ICC Termination Act established the RSTAC to advise the STB's chairman, U.S. transportation secretary and members of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, and House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure on rail transportation policy issues the RSTAC considers significant.
The council focuses on issues of importance to small shippers and small railroads.
