STB names six to Rail Energy Transportation Advisory Committee

The Surface Transportation Board yesterday announced the appointment of six new members to the board's Rail Energy Transportation Advisory Committee (RETAC).

The new members are Bryan Boaz, Sean Brewer, Sandra Ellis, Leila Ford, Edward Quinn, and Robert Zmudka. All new members have been appointed to serve three-year terms ending in September 2026, according to an STB press release.

Boaz is rail operations field supervisor of ExxonMobil. He is appointed to RETAC as an at-large member.

Brewer is assistant vice president of rail fleet operations for ADM and joins RETAC as a biofuel representative.

Ellis is VP of bulk CN, and will serve tthe committee as a Class I representative.

Ford is VP of sales and marketing for Genesee & Wyoming Inc. and serves the committee as a short line representative.

Quinn is president and CEO of the R. J. Corman Railroad Group. He also is appointed to RETAC as a short line representative. 

Zmudka is senior VP and chief commercial officer of GATX and will represent  the private rail-car industry on the committee.

The STB established RETAC in July 2007 to advise the board and serve as a forum for discussion of emerging issues regarding the transportation by rail of coal, ethanol, other biofuels and energy resources.
