Santa Clara VTA board elects new members

The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority’s (SCVTA) board last week elected eight new members.

The members include: Santa Clara County Supervisor Otto Lee, Cupertino City Council Member Darcy Paul, Milpitas City Council Member Carmen Montano, Morgan Hill Mayor Rich Constantine, Santa Clara Mayor Lisa Gillmor, San Jose Council Member Sergio Jimenez and San Jose Council Member Magdalena Carrasco.

Mountain View Mayor Margaret Abe-Koga will serve as an ex-officio member and member of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission representing SCVTA. 

Last month, the board elected Glen Hendricks chair and Charles Jones vice chair.

Hendricks earlier this month laid out four topics he would like the board to focus on in 2021: safe and reliable service; funding stability and operational sustainability; a spending plan for Measure B; and the agency’s business plan, SCVTA officials said in a press release.
