Pam O'Connor, the mayor of Santa Monica, Calif., and a member of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (LACMTA) board, has been named chairwoman of the Exposition Metro Line Construction Authority's board.

In addition, Los Angeles City Council Member Mike Bonin has been named vice chairman.

The authority's board is overseeing construction of a 15-mile light-rail line between downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica. The final leg, a 6.6-mile Phase 2 Expo Line segment between Culver City and Santa Monica, is under construction and slated for completion in 2016.

Meanwhile, Dallas businesswoman Amanda Moreno Cross has been named to Dallas Area Rapid Transit's (DART) board. Cross is the owner of several Dallas businesses, including real estate company 2 Equinas at Bishop Arts, consulting firm C&K Capital and VA Capital.

She will serve on several DART committees, including economic opportunity and diversity, administrative, revenue, audit and security, safety, public relations and operations.
