Scanlon elected to Norfolk Southern's board

Norfolk Southern Corp. has elected Jennifer Scanlon to its board of directors.

Scanlon is president and chief executive officer of USG Corp. She has been appointed to the NS board's Compensation Committee and the Finance and Risk Management Committee.

She also will serve as an independent director, according to an NS press release.

Prior to being named CEO in 2016, Scanlon was president of USG's international business, president of its L&W Supply Corp., and chief information officer and chairman of USG Boral Building Products.

She led USG through the some of the most significant strategic moves in its recent history, including establishing the USG Boral Building Products joint venture and the divestiture of L&W Supply Corp.
