Simmons Machine Tool Corp. recently appointed Roger Collen vice president of sales. He will be responsible for market development, and sales and marketing functions.

Most recently product manager for Macton Corp., Collen has 20 years’ experience in rail-vehicle component design, construction and marketing.

Simmons supplies specialized machine tools designed to help produce and maintain rail-vehicle wheels, axles and wheelsets to freight and passenger railroads in the United States, China, Russia, Australia, India and Africa.

“Simmons continues to invest in new state-of-the-art products for railway wheelset measurement, maintenance and production,” said Simmons President and Chief Operating Officer John Naumann in a prepared statement. “Collen’s industry and technical experience will support our [goals].”
