The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA), formerly known as Tri-Rail, recently elected Palm Beach County Commissioner Jeff Koons and Broward County Commissioner Jim Scott board chairman and vice chairman, respectively.
Koons previously was appointed to the Tri-Rail board in 2000. He held office for the West Palm Beach City Commission for 11 years, serving as commission president in 1989 and 1997 to 1999.
An attorney and founding partner of Tripp, Scott Law Firm, Scott was appointed SFRTA’s Broward County board representative in December 2004. For more than 24 years, he served on the Florida Senate, including a stint as president in 1994.
