The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority's (SFRTA) board last week named Jack Stephens executive director to succeed Joseph Giulietti.Stephens has been serving as interim executive director since January, when Giulietti departed to become president of MTA Metro-North Railroad. Prior to serving as interim director, Stephens was SFRTA's deputy executive director since May 2003 and was responsible for the agency's day-to-day management."The organization and staff need the stability provided by a leader they have been working with for more than a decade as we face the myriad challenges ahead of us," said SFRTA Chairman Steven Abrams in a press release.Stephens previously spent a dozen years at the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority in a succession of increasingly responsible managerial positions.
