The Soy Transportation Coalition (STC) recently re-elected Ed Ulch as chairman, Patrick Knouff as vice chairman and Jerry Wyse as secretary-treasurer.

Ulch is vice chairman of the National Biodiesel Board and serves on the Iowa Soybean Association’s board. Knouff, a corn and soybean farmer in Shelby County, Ohio, is a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation and secretary for the Ohio Soybean Council Board of Directors. Wyse is a member of the Kansas Soybean Commission and previously was chairman of the North Central Soybean Research Program.

“Whether roads and bridges, rail infrastructure, inland waterways or our nation's ports, farmers increasingly recognize that transportation plays a major impact on our bottom line,” said Knouff in a prepared statement. “The Soy Transportation Coalition has been successful in educating farmers and other stakeholders of this critical issue, as well as exploring solutions to many of these infrastructure challenges.”

Established in 2007, the STC includes eleven state soybean boards, the American Soybean Association and United Soybean Board. The coalition aims to promote cost-effective, reliable and competitive transportation services for the soybean industry.
