Transportation Technology Center Inc. (TTCI) President Lisa Stabler has announced plans to retire from the organization after more than 10 years of service.
During her tenure, TTCI — a wholly owned Association of American Railroads (AAR) subsidiary — has established its position as the top research, technical support, testing, and training company supporting the railroad industry, according to a news release.
Stabler was vice president of operations and training for TTCI prior to becoming president. She previously served BNSF Railway Co. in various capacities, including assistant vice president of quality and reliability engineering, and was director of marketing, planning and administration for Delphi Corp.
“I want to thank Lisa for her years of service and dedication not only to TTCI, but to the railroad industry as a whole. Under her leadership, TTCI has grown into an internationally recognized leader in railroad research and technological development. I wish her the best,” said AAR President and Chief Executive Officer Ian Jefferies.
TTCI's board has named Kari Gonzales acting president. Currently VP and chief financial officer, she joined the center in 2002 as an engineer.
In 2017, Stabler was named "Woman of the Year" by the the League of Railway Women. And in 2014, Gonzales was named a "Rising Star" by Progressive Railroading.
