The Transportation Technology Center Inc. (TTCI) has named Shawn Vecellio senior assistant vice president of safety and operations.

Vecellio brings 26 years of experience to the job. Most recently, he was AVP of engineering for Kansas City Southern, overseeing track maintenance, capital programs and other aspects of the business, TTCI officials said in a press release.

Vecellio first began his railroading career with BNSF Railway Co. and later worked for OmniTRAX Inc. and CSX in various roles.

Vecellio has been active with the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association and Operation Lifesaver Inc.

“Shawn’s multidimensional railroad experience, in combination with his proven ability to manage large-scale infrastructure projects, will be invaluable as we transform TTCI’s operations and bring our new location to a state of readiness,” said TTCI President and CEO Kari Gonzales.
