Yesterday, Cedar American Rail Holdings Inc. announced it appointed J. Edward Terbell executive vice president of operations. He will be responsible for the transportation, engineering and mechanical departments at subsidiaries Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern (DM&E) and Iowa, Chicago & Eastern (IC&E) railroads.
Terbell most recently served Canadian National Railway Co. as director of special projects. Since beginning his railroad career in 1974, Terbell also held various engineering, operating and executive positions with the Chicago and North Western Railroad, and Wisconsin Central Railway.
“Ed brings extensive railroad operational experience from both Class I and Class II railroads to our company,” said Cedar American Rail Holdings President and Chief Executive Officer Kevin Schieffer in a prepared statement.
The DM&E and IC&E operate a total of 2,500 track miles in eight upper Midwestern states and move 250,000 carloads annually.
