Kansas City Southern recently named Robert Terry senior vice president and general counsel.

Terry most recently served as president and chief executive officer of Farmland Industries Inc., where he led the company through a Chapter 11 reorganization. Between 1989 and 2004, he also served the company in a number of senior executive positions, including executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary.

Terry has 23 years' legal experience in corporate administration, human resources, environmental, health and safety, communications and government relations.

"Bob's proven ability to control legal matters in the midst of major challenges will be important as we continue to develop business in the NAFTA trade corridor," said KCS Chairman, President and CEO Mike Haverty in a prepared statement.
