Canadian Minister of Transport Pablo Rodriguez recently announced several reappointments at VIA Rail Canada Inc.
Francoise Bertrand of Montreal, Quebec, was reappointed VIA Rail Canada chair for an 18-month term that began Oct. 12. A former president and CEO for several organizations during a 40-year career as a business executive, Bertrand has served as VIA Rail’s chair since spring 2017.
The following people began new four-year terms as reappointed directors on Sept. 25: Kenneth Ching Whay Tan of Richmond, British Columbia; Grant Evan Christoff of Vancouver, British Columbia; and Miranda Gale Keating Erickson of Calgary, Alberta.
Rodriguez also named Daniel Francis Gallivan of Halifax, Nova Scotia, to a new three-year term as a director. His term also began Sept. 25.
"With their vast knowledge of the rapidly evolving transportation sector, [the appointed individuals] will continue to provide quality advice and leadership for our national rail services," Rodriguez said in a news release.
