Tri-Met appoints Contreras to head financial department

Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) recently named Manuel Contreras Jr. treasurer to manage about $450 million in investments and debt.
Contreras will oversee the agency’s cash management, revenue collection, investment and debt management, supervise banking and trust relationships, and manage risk retention and insurance programs.
He previously managed debt and cash management at Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
