VTA seats new board members

The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority’s (VTA) board has elected new members for its 2012 roster.
The board has 12 voting members and six alternates, all of whom are elected officials appointed by the various jurisdictions that make up the VTA.
The new voting members are: Joe Pirzynski, a Los Gatos, Calif., council member who serves as VTA’s vice chairman; Jamie Matthews, mayor of Santa Clara, Calif.; and Pete McHugh, vice mayor of Milpitas, Calif.
The elected officials who have joined the VTA for the first time as alternates are Larry Carr, Evan Low, Gail Price and David Whittum.
