Valley Metro names Hillyard chief administrative officer

Valley Metro hired Jim Hillyard to lead and coordinate administration and operations functions as chief administrative officer.

Hillyard has more than 20 years of public sector executive experience leading the financial, information technology, business and operations departments of organizations of up to 10,000 employees, according to a Valley Metro press release.

Prior to joining Valley Metro, Hillyard served as deputy director for operations at the Arizona Department of Economic Security.

“As a regular user of the rail and a resident of downtown, I know how important our work is to the Arizonans we serve and to the development of our community. As a result, I’m very excited to join such a great team and have the opportunity to make a difference," Hillyard said.
