The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) has promoted Jeremy Latimer to rail transportation programs administrator.

In his new position, he'll be responsible for managing all aspects of the agency's rail funding programs, as well as the development of state-funded rail transportation initiatives.

Before the appointment, Latimer managed the agency's Intercity Passenger Operating and Capital Fund Program, the Shortline Railroad Preservation Program and the Rail Industrial Access Program. He's served DRPT for more than five years.

Latimer joined the agency after working in consulting. He also has grant management experience.
