The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) yesterday announced the appointment of Patricia Lee as general counsel, effective July 11.
She joins the agency after 26 years of public and private legal practice, with experience in regulatory compliance, procurements, real estate transactions, labor matters and litigation.
Lee has held senior legal roles at Northrup Grumman and Cable & Wireless USA Inc. She was also a partner at Holland & Knight. She holds bar memberships in all three of WMATA's jurisdictions: the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.
"Patricia’s unique public and private sector experience make her well suited for many of the challenges that we face today, and she will be an integral part of the executive management team tasked with rebuilding Metro from the inside out," said WMATA General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Paul Wiedefeld in a press release.
