Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) recently appointed Gary Malasky director of property development and management.
He will be responsible for managing WMATA’s joint development program, which is designed to increase ridership by creating transit-oriented development around stations, and developing a new program aimed at adding retail space in stations.
Malasky founded commercial real estate development company Malasky Properties Inc. and served a stint as senior officer at Washington Real Estate Investment Trust. He has more than 25 years’ experience in real estate transactions, including ground-up development, acquisitions, dispositions and management.
