WTS International names new officers, foundation board members

WTS International Inc. recently elected 13 members to its 2014-2016 board and appointed 11 members to the WTS Foundation's board.

The board's newly elected officers are Chair Beverly Swaim-Staley, who is president and chief executive officer of Union Station Redevelopment Corp.; Vice Chair Diane Woodend Jones, chairman of Lea+Elliott; Treasurer Rina Cutler, deputy mayor of transportation and utilities for the city of Philadelphia; Secretary Felicia Boyd, a director at the U.S. Department of Transportation; and Past Chair Dana Hook, vice president of CDM Smith.

The newly elected directors are Marsha Anderson Bomar, a senior transportation principal at Stantec Consulting; Flora Castillo, a board member at New Jersey Transit Corp.; Stephanie Dawson, acting chief operating officer at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; Paula Hammond, senior VP of Parsons Brinckerhoff; Susan Martinovich, highway/bridge market segment director at CH2M HILL; Mike Schneider, senior VP at HDR/InfraConsult L.L.C.; Beverly Scott, general manager of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority; and Maggie Walsh, associate VP at AECOM.

“The new board of directors is an incredible group of industry leaders at the highest levels, and they represent the modes and sectors that make up our membership, which represents every transportation mode and a multitude of disciplines," said WTS International President and CEO Marcia Ferranto in a press release.

The foundation's new officers are Chair Dorri Giles Raposa, senior VP at HDR Engineering; Vice Chair Laurie Cullen, principal program manager at Atkins; Treasurer Deborah Dagang, principal program manager at CH2M HILL; Secretary Cinde Weatherby, principal at Weatherby Consulting; and Past Chair Julia Kuhn, senior principal engineer at Kittleson & Associates Inc.

The foundation's new directors are Susan Binder, senior associate at Cambridge Systematics; Virginia Borkowski, associate VP at HDR Engineering; Jennifer Duvall, planning manager at Jacobs; Teresa Welborn, partnering administrator at the Arizona Department of Transportation; Johanna Zmud, director at RAND Corp.; and Michelle Caldwell, chief administrative services officer at the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

The incoming officers and board members will assume their roles at the WTS business meeting on May 16.

WTS International seeks to attract, retain and advance women in transportation. Membership represents nearly 1,500 companies and 400 agencies in more than 90 cities.
