The Alaska Railroad Corp. (ARRC) recently named Dale Wade vice president of business development to succeed Steve Silverstein, who retired at 2011’s end after 10 years in the post and a 16-year career with the railroad.

Wade will be responsible for marketing, promotions, sales, pricing, product design, and the implementation of freight and passenger services. He most recently was president of GoldStar Logistics Solutions. Prior to that post, Wade served as managing director and transportation consultant for AFMS Transportation Management, national account executive for FedEx Corp. and sales manager for CF Freight.

“[Wade’s] focus on teamwork and customer service will play a big part in our continuing mission to deliver the best service to the people of Alaska and our visitors,” said ARRC President and Chief Executive Officer Chris Aadnesen in a prepared statement.

Silverstein will continue to help ARRC with key ongoing projects as a business development transition specialist.
