Watco names McGuire executive vice president

Watco Cos. LLC has appointed Ed McGuire executive vice president of strategic planning. In his new role, he will work with the Watco team to develop and prioritize key acquisitions and other growth opportunities, the company announced late last week.

McGuire is an experienced transportation industry investment banker who has been a key adviser to Watco for the past decade, Watco officials said in a press release. Prior to joining the company, he worked in the investment and corporate banking industry for 30 years.

Most recently, McGuire served BMO Capital Markets, where he started BMO's Transportation and Logistics investment banking practice in 2003. He also served as chief financial officer at a privately-held leasing company in Chicago, and worked at Banque National de Paris and Continental Illinois.

"Ed has been a part of the Watco Team for many years now, even though he worked for our lead bank, BMO Harris," said Rick Webb, Watco's chief executive officer. "His talents have helped us find new acquisitions that have provided jobs and growth opportunities for many Watco team members and customers. He is a great fit to help develop the strategic direction and growth of Watco."
