The Watco Cos. Inc. recently named David Eyermann senior vice president and assistant chief operating officer. Reporting to President and COO Terry Towner, he will be responsible for track, locomotives, safety and dispatching.

In June 2005, Eyermann joined Watco as East Region COO. He previously served as regional director of RailAmerica Inc.’s Lone Star Division.

Watco — which owns 17 short lines operating in 14 states — also recently appointed Kess Creech vice president of engineering. Reporting to Towner, he will be responsible for system-wide track maintenance and repair, and capital track projects.

Most recently RailAmerica’s chief engineer, Kess previously served RailTex Inc. as chief engineer, regional production manager, general roadmaster and roadmaster. He also held stints as a trackman, assistant foreman, foreman and roadmaster for CSX Transportation.
