The Watco Cos. Inc. recently made some marketing management changes to keep up with increasing traffic growth, according to the short-line holding company's September newsletter.

Brandon Elliott was named marketing manager of the Eastern Idaho Railroad. He most recently served as marketing manager for the Stillwater Central Railroad after a short post-graduate stint as a marketing trainee.

Watco also named Ted Kadau marketing manager of the Great Northwest Railroad. He most recently served as managing editor of the Morning Sun newspaper in Pittsburg, Kan. Kadau previously served the Morning Sun as a news reporter and a small northeast Kansas newspaper as editor.

Finally, Mark Demers, who had been serving as marketing manager for both the Palouse River & Coulee City Railroad (PCC) and Great Northwest, has been assigned solely to the PCC.

Watco owns nine short lines operating in 10 states.
