The Twin Cities & Western Railroad Co. (TC&W) recently promoted Mark Wegner to president. He will succeed William Drusch, who will retire, ending his 38-year railroading career.

Currently executive vice president and chief operating officer of the 229-mile TC&W and its Minnesota Prairie Line Inc. (MPL) affiliate, Wegner will become president of both May 1.

With 16 years’ experience in railroading, Wegner joined the TC&W in 1991 as accounting manager. He later served as comptroller, senior VP and general manager of MPL, and SVP and general manager of the TC&W. Wegner previously was a senior accountant at Moore Data.

Launched in 1991, the TC&W operates a line between St. Paul, Minn., and Milbank, S.D. MPL operates a line — owned by the Minnesota Valley Regional Railroad Authority — between Norwood and Hanley Falls, Minn.
