Norfolk Southern Corp. recently named F. Blair Wimbush vice president of real estate and corporate sustainability officer. He will report to Senior Vice President of Energy and Properties Daniel Smith and lead NS' efforts to enhance relationships with environmental stakeholders and minimize the railroad's environmental footprint.
"With a coordinated effort under Blair's leadership, our goal will be to lead the industry in fuel conservation, emissions reduction, efficient energy use, recycling, use of renewable materials and environmental partnerships," said NS Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Wick Moorman in a prepared.
Since joining NS in 1980 as an attorney, Wimbush has held several key law department positions, including senior general counsel. He most recently served as VP of real estate, the responsibilities for which he will maintain in his new position.
