Fox to succeed the retiring Lampe as Chicago South Shore's CEO (8/3/2010)
8/3/2021Yesterday, the Chicago South Shore & South Bend Railroad (CSS) announced that President and Chief Executive Officer Henry Lampe will retire at October’s end. He will be succeeded by Andrew Fox, managing director of Pacific Harbor Line Inc. (PHL) and a former PHL president, who will assume the post on Sept. 1
Lampe has served as CSS’ president since 2005, when he joined the railroad after spending the prior 35 years with Santa Fe and BNSF railways. He will continue to serve as a member of the short line’s management committee.
“Henry has led significant improvements at CSS in the areas of safety and operating efficiency, improving our commercial and political relationships, and in positioning the railroad strategically,” said Peter Gilbertson, chairman of CSS and PHL owner Anacostia & Pacific Co. Inc., in a prepared statement.
Fox will continue in his role as PHL’s managing director. He joined PHL after a 23-year stint with Southern Pacific, where he held various operating, finance and executive posts.
The 127-mile CSS, which began operations in 1990, provides service between Chicago and South Bend, Ind.
