11/23/2021

At Progressive Railroading’s annual RailTrends® conference Nov. 18 in New York City, Kansas City Southern President and CEO Pat Ottensmeyer and Canadian Pacific President and CEO Keith Creel paid homage to precision scheduled railroading (PSR) expert Sameh Fahmy. At year’s end, Fahmy — KCS’ executive vice president of PSR — will retire. He has led KCS through its transformational implementation of the operating strategy. Fahmy also was instrumental in PSR efforts at CSX and CN, where he worked with Creel. In addition, he spent three years at GE Transportation in strategy, product architecture and pricing roles. In this video, Ottensmeyer and Creel share their thoughts about Fahmy as a PSR driving force and as a person, then the honoree addresses the RailTrends crowd.
