On May 19, Progressive Railroading hosted a virtual summit titled "The Connection of Technology and Data in Railroading." One of the presenters was Mabby Amouie, senior director of analytics and chief data scientist for Norfolk Southern Corp. In a presentation titled "Data Science at NS: Leveraging AI and Predicitive Analytics," Amouie shared The Thoroughbred's digital strategy, with data science serving as one of the strategy's key drivers. He also talked about the roles artificial intelligence, machine learning and other tools are playing (and will continue to play) at NS.
