In a move designed to support customers in Asia and Mexico, APL Ltd. and Transportation Maritima Mexican S.A. de C.V. will upgrade their weekly trans-Pacific container service this month with fewer stops.
The service now will include the industry's first non-stop, trans-Pacific call at the Mexican port of Ensenada and faster service between Asia and the port of Manzanillo gateway to Mexico City.
A half-dozen container ships will sail directly between Asia and Mexico, eliminating ports of call on the U.S. West Coast and two Pacific islands.
