Last month, Jo Strang was designated as acting deputy administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration. She will oversee the agency until the Obama Administration appoints a new administrator.
In the meantime, Grady Cothen has been designated as acting associate administrator for railroad safety while Strang serves as acting deputy administrator.
Strang previously served the FRA as deputy associate administrator for railroad development. Prior to joining the FRA’s national office, she was associate director for railroad and transit accident investigations at the National Transportation Safety Board and a FRA deputy regional administrator in Chicago.
