A unit of CSX Transportation Inc. has opened a coal rail-truck transfer facility on CSX’s line in Rossford, Ohio.
Bulk Intermodal Distribution Services Inc.’s facility, which opened in December 1996, can handle 250,000 tons of coal per year and provide just-in-time deliveries.
The facility also offers dedicated and divided stockpiling to receivers in the Toledo, Ohio, area.
Bulk Intermodal may open additional facilities near other large industrial areas in the near term, CSX officials say.
