Last month, CSX Transportation reached an agreement with a Spanish transportation and logistics service provider to jointly market the railroad's service in Spain and Portugal.
Naviera del Odiel S.A. will represent and actively promote CSX's North American rail service to Spanish and Portuguese shippers, freight forwarders and logistics managers. Madrid-based Naviera del Odiel also will identify product-development opportunities and help CSX "strengthen its customer base," according to a prepared statement.
The agreement supports the railroad's increased focus on international commerce and its plan to increase its commercial presence in Europe, CSX officials said.
