Brent Wood became permanent president of the Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis (TRRA) in March, and now serves as both president and chief financial officer. He had filled in as the short line’s interim leader from Nov. 5, 2021 — when former TRRA President Ronald Tindall Jr. stepped down — to March 18, 2022.
Wood, 60, joined TRRA in 2017 as CFO. Prior to that, he spent 35 years in various roles in the coal, power and public accounting sectors, including stints at Zeigler Coal Holding Co./Old Ben Coal Co., AEI Resources, Peabody Energy, Prairie State Generating Co., White Oak Resources and Connor Ash & Co. PC.
TRRA is a Class III railroad that serves 80 industrial customers in the St. Louis region and interchanges with all the Class Is. The short line also owns and operates the Merchants Bridge, MacArthur Bridge and a rail switching facility in Madison, Illinois.
