American Tire Distributors Inc. opened a 756,000-square-foot regional distribution center in Alliance, Texas, several years ago. Now one of the company’s four vital tire mixing facilities in the United States, the Texas center is located near BNSF Railway Co.’s Alliance intermodal facility — just a 10-minute truck trip away. The Class I helps American Tire save significant time and money on drayage costs, and reduce carbon emissions from its transportation usage. By accessing BNSF's Alliance facility and intermodal service, the distributor can provide tires to 88% of its customers in just two days.
