Norfolk Southern Corp. recently launched NSites, a GIS-based search engine designed to help shippers, developers and others more easily locate rail-served industrial sites and transload facilities in the east. The portal provides comprehensive information about industrial sites near NS’ lines, including 800 available properties in the railroad’s 22-state territory. All the sites are verified as rail accessible by NS or one of its short-line partners. In addition, NSites offers the ability to locate 250 transload facilities in key U.S. eastern markets.
