MTA New York City Transit (NYCT) recently awarded a contract to joint venture Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB) and Bovis Lend Lease to provide construction management services for a new $750 million Fulton Street Transit Center.

The project includes rehabilitating the existing Fulton Street/Broadway-Nassau Street stations, and creating a transit center at street and subsurface levels on Broadway between Fulton and John streets to create an entry point to the entire downtown subway.

The station will improve access to and connections between six existing subway stations and 12 subway lines, and will link NYCT facilities with the Port Authority Trans-Hudson system and the redeveloped World Trade Center station.

Construction is expected to begin in late 2004 and be complete by 2007’s end.

PB/Bovis will provide pre-construction services during the project’s design phase, technical assistance during bid and contract award stages, and construction management services during construction and closeout phases.
