Rail News: Rail Industry Trends

NJ Transit to increase light-rail service on River Line

On June 21, New Jersey Transit will begin offering more frequent service on the Trenton-to-Camden River Line, which opened in February.

Light-rail service will increase from 76 to 105 weekday roundtrips with 15-minute headways during morning and evening peak periods. Peak service will be available from Camden to Trenton between 5:45 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., and 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Peak service will be offered from Trenton to Camden between 6 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., and 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The increased service will improve connections with NJ Transit commuter, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority and Amtrak lines, and Delaware River Port Authority’s PATCO Speedline.
