On Oct. 26, Earth Tech Inc. Senior Vice President John Bergerson died of heart failure. He was 59.

Bergerson served as a key marketing executive the engineering firm’s transit/railroad sector.

"John’s passion for his work was an inspiration to others. He pursued every opportunity to share his engineering knowledge and experience with colleagues in ways that would truly make a difference to the quality of a project," said Earth Tech President Alan Krusi in a prepared statement. "The transportation projects he touched leave behind a lasting legacy that will benefit people throughout the world for decades to come."

During his career, Bergerson managed a variety of transportation projects, most recently a Program Management Oversight contract with the Federal Transit Administration.

He also served as principal-in-charge of Earth Tech’s work on major transit-rail projects in Taipei, Manila, Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, Seattle, Chicago and San Francisco.

In recognition of Bergerson’s passion for golf, donations can be made in his memory to the Northern California Golf Association’s NCGA Foundation, which provides lessons to disadvantaged children.
