More Santa Clara Valley residents are considering public transportation when traveling, according to a recent survey conducted by the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA).

Earlier this year, the authority interviewed Santa Clara County, Calif., residents — the majority of whom aren’t regular transit users — about their perception of VTA. More than 70 percent of the residents said they were extremely willing, very willing or somewhat willing to use VTA when traveling to work or school, or recreating.

The authority conducted the to determine what services will provide the greatest benefit to passengers and identify ways to reach out to potential riders.
