Next week, Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) will resume light-rail service between the North Avenue and Timonium stations, which has been closed while the agency double-tracked the line.

MTA will make all stops between the Timonium, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and Cromwell stations. Early next year, the agency expects to complete the 9.4-mile double-tracking project and resume service to Hunt Valley.

When the project is complete, 90 percent of MTA’s light-rail system will be double tracked, enabling the agency to increase service reliability and decrease headways.
