Tomorrow, a group of Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s (WMATA) Metro Transit Police officers and a K9 team will be on hand to monitor a Metrorail station between 7:30 and 9 a.m.

The officers will spread along the length of the platform to inspect all trains passing through the station and look for suspicious activity. They’ll also speak with passengers about safety and security.

The station monitoring is part of the WMATA police department’s new program under which station and train inspections will take place at random locations during morning rush hour.
