Washington Group International Inc. recently announced it is partnering with RATP Développement to market operating and maintenance services to U.S. passenger-rail agencies.

Washington Group currently is operating and expanding New Jersey Transit’s Hudson-Bergen light-rail line under the first design-build-operate-maintain contract for a U.S. transit agency, according to a prepared statement.

The design-build firm helped design and construct Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Gold Line light-rail extension. Washington Group also is involved in Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s Dulles Corridor project and South Florida Regional Transportation Authority’s double-tracking project.

Washington Group will rely on RATP’s expertise to help operate and maintain rail systems. The French agency operates the 14-line Paris Metro, two regional Paris rail lines, two transit lines and numerous bus routes.
