Utah Transit Authority proposes consecutive-year fare hikes

Next month, the Utah Transit Authority will hold public hearings to gather comments on proposed 2005 and 2006 fare increases.

If approved, the adult cash fare would increase from $1.35 to $1.40 in 2005 and $1.50 in 2006; day pass would go up from $2.70 to $3.50 and $4; and monthly ticket prices would rise from $45 to $47 and $50.
